*What are cyanotypes?*
Cyanotype is a form of photographic printing that is over 170 years old.

*The process*
Two chemicals- potassium ferricyanide and ferric ammonium citrate- are combined with water to create a photosensitive solution, which is then applied by hand to paper or fabric and allowed to dry in a darkroom. Once exposed to sunlight, the developing process begins. Over the course of 30 minutes to an hour, any area hit by the sun turns from light green, to cyan blue. The more exposure to UV light, the richer the shade of blue!
